Lolth's Web -- Player Credo
The Golden Ticket to the Lolth's Web Grand Campaign is simple. Agree to all of the below rules:
No interpersonal problems or conflicts, period. Role-playing is fine but even slightly combative role-playing must be done with everyone smiling. If I feel there is a problem, I will stop the game and interceded directly; I am quite skilled at this as it is now the basis of my job. Remember, Faerun will pull no punches; you will need every other PC to have your back.
Please take our play sessions somewhat seriously. Be on time to game sessions or Slack everyone that you will be late. If you are going to miss a session, please ensure you talk with everyone. I have put in countless amounts of work--which I am fine with and love--but I want you to treat our time in Faerun with respect. There shouldn't be much work for you after creating a hero so sit back, be on time and enjoy. Kids, spouses, etc. can watch but I would like to ask for your uninterrupted attention. Please don't work in a window, etc. You have my promise that I will ensure you are entertained.
The DM has the final call on all game-related matters. You should ALWAYS STATE YOUR BEST ARGUMENT--if you have one--and I will ALWAYS FACTOR THAT IN!
Our game sessions need to be judgment-free and filled with fun. I will actively role-play every single character you interact with no matter how small. I will take on silly voices, make faces, flirt, everything you can imagine. I will butcher accents and we will laugh! In short, I will always actively role-play. While you certainly don't need to actively role-play, it is much more fun. All of us need to encourage active role-playing when someone engages in it. Think of our game time as an acting class where everyone is simply encouraged to try stuff! "Failures" are actually sometimes much better in the long run. Our space should feel like a "trust-fall" exercise.
