It is said that before the Pantheon in Absentia could even conceive of creating intelligent life, the true dragons were born of the elemental chaos that created Loom. Not creations of the divine but unwanted byproducts of their work. For thousands of years there were only ten dragons; five villainous chromatics and five virtuous metallics, who scourged and scoured the lands for great treasures to call their own. Everything changed with the arrival of the five newborn elemental dragons and the birth of the dragonborn. When the Pantheon in Absentia was banished from the material plane, when the Council of Dragons was founded, when the old world fell -- the dragons remained as ever. Many believe the dragons are immortals, others want to prove they are not, because as eternal as they might be they have not kept their youth. The chromatic and metallics grew old and came around to the idea of allowing intelligent mortal beings to live in their lairs and provide them with treasure directly. NOTE: Although Gem Dragons exist in DnD guides they (and their dragonborn) do not exist on Loom. Yet...
