Being the nephew of Louissa Prenav has gone to Bertrand's head. He believes that everyone should recognize when they are in the presence of their betters, but fails to recognize that he holds no more real power than a glorified personal assistant. He has a habit of trying to make deals and gain personal power on behalf of his aunt without quite realizing she doesn't need or want that help in the first place.
