While this family certainly carries itself as if it were royalty, they have never quite been able to gain a foothold in anything that matters outside of the occasional Art Gala. Some call them opportunists, others call them power-hungry egomaniacs, but no one really considers them to be a threat. They have a reputation for being driven by aesthetics more than good politics, and more than one of them have been criticized for putting their "unique vision" above the well-being of actual people.
That said, they are also insanely rich. The fact that they haven't been able to buy themselves to a higher position of power speaks to just how disorganized and incoherent they are as a house, and how badly they've tarnished their own reputation over the years.
