Mantra

Mantra is the name remembered for the authentic divine language, the Original Tongue. According to elven legends and records, simply using it is capable of transforming reality or creating a completely new one. They believe that all magic originates from this language and that the cosmos was created with it. It should not be confused with Mantra, the elves' own language, supposedly derived from Dvarim.

Almost all languages are used for communication, to produce understanding. According to our (elven) scholars who have dedicated themselves to collecting all records and mentions of Mantra, it should be considered more as a magical law rather than a language. It does not communicate but affirms; it does not detail, it defines and redefines; it does not seek understanding, it imposes reality.

Today, no words of this supposed language are known, although many scholars of the Guild of Scribes suspect that if there were any knowledge, the elves would guard it more carefully than their modified trees. Their words, not mine.

Mythology

In elven legends, the Gods were born from the echo of the (sound) Mantra, but even they were not able to fully understand it. The noise, or harmony, depending on which god is the protagonist of the legend, guided the deities to Bhur, where the Sovereign Dragons played with the creations of the (language) Mantra in a disharmonious manner, so much so that even those for whom the (sound) Mantra was painful, began to loathe it.

Taking it as a mission given by the (creation) Mantra itself, the gods began their wars against the sovereigns for control of the flow of Ether, the echo of the Mantra. If the word is repeated too often, it is because it is imperative, according to the elves, that it is never omitted when recounting a legend about it.
