Elders

Role of an Elder

The Role of Elders in Lunia society is critical in maintaining the order and prosperity of the guilds. Elders are leaders and advisors to the townsfolk, making decisions on behalf of the town and ensuring the growth and success of their guild. They oversee everything from recruitment to training, organizing guild activities, and conducting meetings not only with the royal family but inner sub-kingdom elderly meets.

Responsibilities of Elders

Elders have many responsibilities, including leading the townsfolk and providing guidance, making important decisions regarding guild activities and projects, and ensuring that the guild is financially stable. Each town has their own elder, and the elder appoints representatives in the town that they believe can benefit the guild such as foxes for managing finances, housing, food supply, and more.   These roles are normally inherited from the last Elder of the town, but new Elders can create roles as long as they have majority vote by their town and can petition the need to their townsfolk for the said role.

Petitioning to become an Elder

Becoming an Elder is an esteemed honor and requires a lot of hard work and dedication. To become an Elder, a Lunia fox must make a petition on why they believe they should be an elder of the town. They must demonstrate their loyalty, commitment to the guild, and have a clear plan on how they will help the region grow and succeed. Multiple individuals can step up and fight for the position, and an Elder rotates out every 5 years unless the townsfolk requests an overthrow of the elder with over 50% approval for the overthrow.   After they get approval from at least half the townsfolk, they must take their case to the royal family who will approve their request as well as bless their gem with power to lead. If the elder is overthrown, the next elder will take the journey with the overthrow documentation or the royal family will visit the town.

Meetings and Reports

Elders are expected to attend monthly meetings at the Castle Square, where they report on the progress and success of their region. They provide updates on recruitment, training, finances, and any notable events that occurred during the month. The Royal Family also requests an annual budget report to ensure that each region is using their finances wisely and to make recommendations for improvement.
