Character Creation

Written by alexa6rose

Lunia foxes are a unique species that inhabit the universe of LuaLunia. These foxes are known for their unique appearances, with colorful gems adorning their bodies. These foxes have a slender build, with a variety of different ears, tails, and gem placements that allow for the species to be connected but diverse. Their coats can have any patterns or colors that give the players owning their Lunias to customize their characters. They have adapted to the unique challenges of their environments, using their sharp senses and quick reflexes to hunt prey and avoid predators as well as learning the magic that inhabits the zones they live in.   Lunia foxes are revered and respected in their entire universe. They are considered to be wise and powerful beings, with a deep connection to the natural world. Some even believe that they hold the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe. The species is one of the oldest species in the universe, with a rich history and culture that spans thousands of years.

Tails

Lunia foxes are known for their distinct appearance and unique physical features, but when they are first born all Lunia are born with 6 options for tails. When a player creates a Lunia character in the world of LuaLunia, they will roll an r6 die (or if the GrandMaster allows, the player can just pick their favorite tail) to determine which base tail their character will start with. Each number on the die corresponds to a different tail type, ranging from long and ragged, to short and stumpy.   In addition to the look of the tails, players are also able to customize their Lunia's tails using a set number of colors (this is explained below in another section of this document they can be adorned with a wide range of patterns, designs, and colors, allowing players to create a truly unique and personalized character so the player feels connected to the world of LuaLunia. As the player progresses in the roleplay community, they have the opportunity to obtain new tails for their Lunia characters which are accomplished by completing quests, hunting, and participating in events.   Players can even expand the number of tails they have by upgrading their magic level which will start off as a base tail and the look is determined using an r6 die (or if the GrandMaster allows, the player can just pick their favorite tail) as well; if you're interested in expanding magic, please check out the document on LuaLunia's magic!   Tails aren't just used for the looks of the character either; They can be used for a variety of tasks, such as grasping objects or providing extra balance and stability when navigating treacherous terrain. Some tails may even possess special abilities or powers that can be unlocked through training one's magic abilities!

Ears

Like with tails, players have a wide range of customization options for their Lunia's ears. When creating a new Lunia character, players must roll an r6 die (or if the GrandMaster allows, the player can just pick their favorite tail) to determine which of the six base ear types their Lunia will start out with. Each number on the die corresponds to a different ear type, ranging from long and pointed to short and rounded shown in the image above.   Ears can have a variety of designs and patterns to create a unique and personalized character using the base 6 colors they are provided and can pick to start out with. Additionally, players can choose to include empty holes or slits in their Lunia's ears to showcase scars or other injuries, adding an extra layer of depth and detail to their character to build up their backstories. As the player progresses in their specific roleplay community, they have the opportunity to obtain new ears types for their Lunia characters which are accomplished by completing quests, hunting, and participating in events.   Ears in LuaLunia also have practical uses as well! They enhance the Lunia's sense of hearing, allowing them to detect sounds and vibrations which is useful for fighting as well as hunting; These senses get enhanced when other senses like eyesight are limited or not possible by the Lunia. Ear sizes also have a play in these senses such as for detecting the approach of others as well as locating hidden objects. Larger ears increase the chance to locate hidden objects as well as detect things farther away, but they lower other statistics like speed. Smaller ears have a smaller range, but they increase the speed of the character as well as some other smaller statistics with NPCs.   Some ears, like bent ears or curved ear tips, increase the Lunia's charm and charisma, allowing them to persuade or influence NPCs more easily because of their cuteness. Ears that are rougher with pointed tips or fluffed tips lower the charm and charisma of the character but allow for better confidence with NPCs once you get missions and provide the party with better decision-making skills with NPCs. These statistics are added as bonuses to the character's descriptions in a variety of different ways.   Certain ear accessories such as earrings may provide unique bonuses or abilities to their magic or other statistics.

Gems

Gems are placed in 6 spots and must be the color of the magic zone that the player picks at the beginning of the roleplay. When creating a new Lunia character, players must roll an r6 die to determine which of the six gem placements their Lunia will have. Each number on the die corresponds to a different gem placement, which cannot be changed once determined. If a grandmaster allows it instead of using a die, the players can pick their gem location but it still will not be allowed to be moved once determined.   When creating a new Lunia character, players must choose a magic zone based on where their Lunia will reside as their base. Each magic zone is associated with a specific color, and the gems placed on the Lunia's body must match the color of the chosen magic zone.   These gems are not just for show. Lunia foxes use them to communicate with each other and are their source of the Lunia's magic abilities. They are imbued with powerful energies that allow the Lunia to manipulate the elements of nature or the supernatural, and as their magic mana is used it gets brighter or dimmer based on how much magic is left in the Lunia at that moment. The gems on a Lunia's body will glow or dim depending on the Lunia's mood as well, not just for their magic; if a Lunia is feeling happy or content, their gems will glow brightly. If they are feeling angry or upset, the gems may turn dark and get dimmer. When magic is being used, their mood is not shown on the gem and is replaced with the amount of mana left in the Lunia.

Accessories

Accessories can be bought throughout LuaLunia and players can request for accessories to be added to the shop. Players can also make a variety of accessories on their own by collecting materials, doing trades, or participating in LuaLunia.   Grandmasters approve the designs by the player and set a gold price for the player to purchase the accessories; Accessories are submitted to the world with a set price so that other players can add them to their LuaLunia as well as have access to a variety of designs for types of Jewelry.   Accessories can be any amount of colors and are not limited to the player's color palette of 6 colors. The accessories must be listed on a list to the side of the Lunia, and have the optional or required at all times for each piece for any art to be made of the Lunia.   There are multiple categories for accessories:
