Immortous
Immortous are undying beings that aren't sought after by any god or deity for cheating the cycle of life or death. They were created this way by the gods or deities that they once fought or served and are now paying the price. One would think that it would be beneficial or wonderful to have the ability to not age or decay away, but an Immortous knows that it is more a curse than a blessing. They are naturally resilient and able to continue in harsh conditions, but these abilities come at a cost. Immortous find themselves unable to enjoy much of what life has to offer, due to the fact that they live through many others. They watch loved ones grow old and even those that they find themselves unable to live without, passing on and leaving them behind. This is why most Immortous, whom are left traveling the planes, are lonely and impulsive beings. Immortous often find themselves with an adventuring group and then very soon on their own again, in a never ending cycle of learning to love and then forgetting. Being an Immortous is not all bad and some have found ways to make it work for themselves. There do exist some Immortous who are great help to their civilizations and who stand with empires through their long histories, or stay in small villages as non-aging shaman, keeping the natural balance. In the Shadowfeld there are a few smaller towns that are made up entirely of Immortous. Many of these towns are blocked off from the rest of the plane and are hardly traveled to by others, but it is here that some Immortous can find a sliver of happiness. Most Immortous are centuries to millennium old, but every so often a new one is created through the misfortune of the world.
