Bishop Tikhon
Tikhon is Bishop of Zmiihorod. Tikhon was apparently summoned (or at least alerted) by some villagers of Aleksandrovka regarding Khoma's misdeeds, and the fact that the smith continues to elude justice. Tikhon had come with some armed men, some in the service of the Prince, some apparently mercenaries. Upon arriving, Tikhon learned that Sister Irina and her companions were unsuccessful in bringing Khoma back from the Volkhv Encampment. As persuasion failed, the Bishop intends to send the men to bring Khoma back by force.
Though he is not completely satisfied, he does apparently appreciate Irina's effort, so while staying in Aleksandrovka, he tonsured her and initiated her into the novitiate.
