Boris Bobchinsky
Boris is the scion of a boyar clan that owns of a vast tract of land four hundred versts to the northeast of Krinets. The land includes two large villages (Bobchinskoye and Sobolevo), as well as several smaller hamlets. Despite its size, the territory is sparsely populated. It largely subsists on trapping (especially sable and ermine), and human trafficking - local Kuz' tribespeople who fail to meet their quota become indebted to the Bobchinskys, and are often sold at slave markets in Krinets.
Boris's cousin Gennadii was the master of Vasilisa Priamovna's husband xxxx, who served him in the capacity of guardian of his hunters and trappers. He was also a member of the Strelok Lodge, which charged him with keeping a watch over the wild, northern frontier of the Dominion. Vasilisa, who was also trained by her husband as storozh, served Bobchinsky as well.
Like many boyars who own distant estates within the Dominion, the Bobchinskys also owns the family mansion in Krinets itself. It was here that he was encountered by the Yokels. Boris attended a feast at the chilliarch mansion, where they had been invited by Rogdai Siverskii. Vasilisa made plans to meet with him the following day to discuss the Yokels' trip up through the Bobchinsky estate, though that plan never materialized.
The Bobchinskys seem to have high status around town. At one point, Plamen prophesied to another partygoer that she would marry someone whose name started with a "B", clearly implying Bobchinsky. She seemed excited at the prospect, though Plamen flubbed the introduction to the man.
Boris Bobchinsky presumably remains in Krinets.
