Falcon shapeshifter

The nature of the falcon shapeshifter derives from celestial and solar deities like Dazhbog. Typically, he embodies strength, gallantry, virility, bravery, and confidence – all characteristically regarded as masculine heroic virtues. The high-flying falcon aims to transcend himself and subject any physical inadequacies to the discipline of his spirit. For these reasons, the Bright Falcon, as he is often titled, tends to be well regarded in human society, and is a highly sought-after romantic partner (though he is sometimes treated with suspicion by priests). Sporting classic good looks, falcons typically have highly symmetrical faces, piercing bright eyes, and occasionally, aquiline noses.   Female falcon shapeshifters, though rarer, tend to display analogous qualities. They are warrior-princesses who like to take charge on the battlefield, and in personal relationships.   The Bright Falcon is the proverbial golden boy, and loves to put himself on display. Most frequently, he is of the boyar station, and tends to behave like an aristocrat even if he is not. The falcon’s shapeshifter parent is likely a princeling or independent freeholder. His base may be distant from most Noriki settlements (located on a mountaintop or island or somesuch locale), but he likely has some links to other princes or boyars, and will probably foster his progeny with them until their true nature is fully revealed.   At their best, falcons are chivalrous and heroic, respectful of their opponents and those of lesser status, and unswerving in the face of danger or foes. They will doggedly pursue their goal, whether it is an evildoer, a romantic interest, or simply fame, no matter the risk. On the other hand, falcons are frequently egotistical, prideful, dismissive of others, and tyrannical toward those weaker or less fortunate than themselves. They also tend to overestimate their abilities, and enter confrontation without fully weighing all consequences.
