Stavr Godinovich
Stavr is a storied bogatyr who spent nearly a century encased in stone in the Cave of the Sleeping Bogatyrs. When he was revived by the Serpent Slayers using the Water of Life and Water of Death, he told them his story, and then joined them to help in their efforts against Grey Wolf and his minions.
Stavr was a boyar from Vishemila, whose wife had an even more storied lineage than him, descended as she was from the founder of the Oratai path - Mikula Selianinovich. Just after being revived, Stavr was already boasting about his bride - an act that previously got him thrown in his prince's dungeons. His bride, Vasilisa, after learning of her groom's imprisonment, attacked his prince, and demanded tribute. Trying to ingratiate her, the prince invited her to a feast, at which the gusliary did not play well enough for her satisfaction. At that point, the prince remembered that Stavr himself was a masterful gusli player. He was fetched from the dungeons, and played for the mighty guest, but did not recognize her beneath her knightly armaments. She then demanded to oversee the prince's retinue, along with its commander - Stavr, out in the field, where she revealed herself to her groom. The two returned to the feast hall, where the prince was forced to recognize that Stavr's boast was not a vain one.
Subsequently, Stavr spent some time serving in Krinets, and ended up in the retinue of the Grand Prince of Bogumil at the time of the Kochmak invasion. Along with fellow bogatyrs, he defeated the advance Kochmak force, but then, as he related to the Serpent Slayers, the bogatyrs grew boastful, and proclaimed that they could defeat anyone, even an army from the Netherworld. At that, a man appeared out of nowhere, accepting their challenge. One bogatyr easily cleft him in half, but in his place, two more appeared. The bogatyrs kept slaying the challengers, but their numbers kept doubling. Eventually, the bogatyrs grew scared, and fled to a nearby cave. That was the last thing Stavr remembered.
Grateful for being revived, Stavr pledged his services to the Serpent Slayers. He was now a man out of his time, and didn't know a soul in the world. Taking up their cause against Grey Wolf seemed like a task worthy of his talents and name. So he accompanied them to Ladeisk, and, along with another revived comrade, Dunai Ivanovich, helped them conduct a group of refugees to the court of Prince Trofim Andreevich of Ladeisk. There, he agreed to help the prince prepare the city for the coming siege against the wolves, and the Kochmaki from the south. Despite being encased in stone for a lifetime, Stavr, like all bogatyrs, was still able to call upon his steed, which appeared shortly after the group existed the caves.
Despite spending much time talking about his wife Vasilisa, Stavr now seems free, and has a wandering eye. He spent a lot of time during the trip flirting with all the young women in the party - Agapia, Malina and Zorina.
