48th - 51th Sessions

General Summary

The party enters the city of Dovemouth. Crimson gets them rooms in the servants quarters of aristocratic quarters. Theo and Daniel head out to find another tavern where they can get something other than fine wine.

On the way, they find two men chasing and beating up a street kid. They step in and defeat the men who claim the kid stole from them. This turns out to a lie as the men were attempting to adduct children that no one cares about. Theo suspects The Order of the Iron Path and calls on Ellie and Tasha. Ellie cleans up the boy and exchanges the 8 gold Daniel gave him for same value in silver. They learn the details of how they are supposed to contact the people paying them: Wall street hour after midnight, in cloaks and a lantern.

Theo watches the kidnappers as the others walk the boy back to his crew. A little girl, Hattie, has been missing from the crew for at least 3 days. The crew leader, Whetstone, welcomes the boy, Gibbs, back and questions the party. They tell the children to not be out alone.

They go to tell Crimson about the attack on the child and let her deal with getting the local authorities to punish the humanoid traffickers. The party prepares for a sting operation.

The party goes to the sting and a bit off, are confronted by Whetstone, who wants to go with them. They tell her "no." The party tells out the guard who came to meet them. Theo drags him with them down the secret stairs in the cellar.

There's a rough fight including a fire mage and an assassin who both run off when the other guards go down. The party chugs some healing potions and go after the mage. When he's about to go down, he flees into a adjoining room. Theo follows, only to run back out as he saw others in the room. The go back into the hallway and see the fire mage running down the other end of the hall, likely to a backway.

Whetstone greets them, urges them to go down and resuce Hattie and claims she has more healing potions. They tell her to shove off and then go after the mage. They track him down, capture him and turn him over to the local authorities. It's 8 gps to send the vials of liquids and spectimens to authorities in Nova Epoch along with a letter explaining that the Ironpath is active in Dovemouth.

On the way back to the inn, the see the injured assassin in the ally. He says they can take him just as long as they keep that thing away from him. The thing had blades in its hands, looked like a little girl and got back up after he broke its neck. They turn him in.

They shove off down the Dove River. 2 days down the river, they have to stop in Tottenham to repair the boat. In the village, the party meets Willibald Fairburrow, whom Tasha knows from her old troop, and his daughter Robinia.
