Ilknur's Academy for the Sensory Impaired

Currently with campuses located in Talon Forest and Lunaville, Ilknur's is a Time Clan school for the deaf and blind. Time Clanish Children born deaf or deafened during infancy are sent there at the age of 3 and blind children are sent at 6. Deaf children of deaf adults will often begin attending at the age of 6 or sometimes 12. Though it's mainly a bording school, local children may live at home and attend during the day.

Tuition for Time Clanish children is free paid for through donations from Clan nobles and funding from the court. Outsider children may attend for a price. Foundlings' tuitions are paid by increasing the tribute from the territory in which they were found. Poorer outsider families can often find a sponsor from among the Clan's wealthy or the Old Ones to pay for them.

The school came out of a tradition of gathering the deaf and blind into special bands to help educate them and provide societal accommodations for them. Through this traditional, the Clan has developed a tactile writing system and signed language which have spread to some of the nations outside of Time Clan territory.
