Sidonia
Background
Sidonia was born to a couple of merchant sea merfolk. Her family, both cognizant of and influenced by the taint that ran in their blood, chose a life of travel and trade instead of the more typical settling most merfolk did. Her birth was ill luck for her parents: few sailors would travel on the same boat as the devil-child, even less so passengers. They were forced to abandon seafaring, and settle in a small town, where they could raise their child in hiding. As soon as Sidonia was grown enough, however, they went back to sea... and she went with them. Sailors are superstitious folk, but there was little arguing with the value of Sidonia's magical talents. Few ships could afford a spellcaster, much less one so talented with water and electricity. Besides, Sidonia had always had a way with words. They would always return to that town, however: while they had spent only a few years there, they had laid roots. Plus, Sidonia insisted. To the scandal of the townsfolk, she insisted on showing up to the church, brazen and uncovered, small horns poking out of her forehead.Family Tree
