Personal history
Born to Henry and Millie Alastair. He believed his father walked out on him when he was young and brewed a grudge against him, vowing to never leave his sons when he had them. He went on to train as a ranger, being a local hero, and marry a retired hunter named Mary Cameron. The two went on to have two children, Cain and Karl, and had a happy family until 1610, when his wife's past caught up to them and a demon named Azazel killed Mary and fed Karl his own blood. This sparked a need for revenge, and to protect his sons, he trained them on how to be hunters. In 1627, he left to hunt Azazel, and soon after in mid-1628, Cain and Karl went to find him. This led to him being captured in Molag and used to lore Cain and Karl to the Gates of Hell. Karl is controlled into opening the gates, as required by lore (a human raised with demon blood), and releasing thousands of demons into the world. He is killed, his neck being broken while grappling Azazel, to let Cain and Karl close the gates. Karl soon after accidentally rose his spirit, and after a fierce battle, John shot Azazel using Cain's gun with a demon-killing bullet, successfully getting revenge, and having fallen in battle, his soul rose to Valhalla, to forever be with his wife.
