Angelcyning (Angel Signing)
The lord of the Ealdgesegen Kingdom is known as the Angelcyning. This title has been passed down since the first lord of Ealdgesegen, Uric Angelcyning, lead the soon to be people of the Ealdgesegen Kingdom to build the foundations that would become the city-state of Ealdgesegen. Since that time for centuries, the Angelcyning has lead his or her people to a bright future of tradition and prosperity.
Requirements
In order to become the Angelcyning, one must be from the current line of lords. If no such heir exists, then the Council of Cynegold must elect a new line of family from one of their own and that person must be approved by the True King.
Appointment
When a new Angelcyning takes the Crown of Willpower, they under go the Ceremony of Dawn. The current royal family, the Council of Cynegold, Royal Knights of Ealdgesegen, and the city-state's citizens must gather to witness the crowning. At the crack of dawn on a Sunday, the heir to the throne is announced Angelcyning.
Duties
The duties of the Angelcyning is to maintain order and peace in the Kingdom of Ealdgesegen and to ensure its future. They must make sure the market continues to rise and that all citizens have a home, food, and income. They must also hold firm the protection of the Kingdom, aided by the knights that answer to them.
Responsibilities
The Angelcyning must meet with the Council of Cynegold everyday to go over the happenings in the Kingdom and to approve or disapprove of any larger tasks that a Council member would need permission for.
Benefits
The Angelcyning and their family lives in the Daybreak Castle, a marvelous work of architecture that resides in the middle of Ealdgesegen surrounded by high walls. They're served by maids who clean, cook, and maintain the royal family's living quarters. They also have great monetary values, abling them to buy nearly whatever they wish.
Accoutrements & Equipment
The Crown of Willpower, the symbol of leadership for Ealdgesegen, is given to the Angelcyning. The Crown is a legendary Artifact of Power given to a previous Angelcyning, Aldwyn Dawnlord, by the King of the Olympians: Lord Zeus. The Crown grants it's rightful owner the knowledge and willpower needed to govern.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
It is very rare for an Angelcyning to be removed from the throne. Only two ways exist for them to be officially removed; either the Council of Cynegold votes in favor of removal or the True King gathers a meeting of kings to approve the dismissal. Once approved, the Angelcyning is stripped of their power and their family is no longer considered royal.
