In a remote village called Eldrethar in the Baltas mountain range of Felldoran, inhumane experiments using alchemy and dark magics were conducted on abducted children from the local mining encampment and within the town. During the events of the Wayfaring Strangers campaign, the party encountered a member of the Shadow King's Cult who had successfully created a new humanoid race with the physical features of rodents. Most of this race suffers from madness brought on by the truly wicked tests and experiments that were performed on them by the alchemist. Those who are able to maintain their reasoning and logic, not suffering from the primal nature that the rest of the race does, tend to maintain the good nature of their gnomish and halfling ancestry.

Due to the novelty of the race, it is unknown whether this new genus will trend toward the disposition of the more sentient or the more primal traits.
