The Elder Gods awaken from their eons long slumber, and begin creating the world
The time before elfkind. Nothing existed but the Elder Gods, slumbering in a vast emptiness.
The Elder Gods awaken from their eons long slumber, and begin creating the world
After the Elder Gods awoke, they created the world and all living beings.
The Elder Gods created the Elves in the image of themselves. They were the first sentient lifeform to be created
The Dwarves were discovered by an elf named Tamnaeth deep underground. Upon seeing the dwarves appearance, Tamnaeth was distraught and disgusted by their mannerisms and demeanor.
Bahamut and his children, the Metallic Dragons, came to Lyceia looking for refuge from the Chromatic Dragons. Bahamut is an elder god from a distant plane.
Tiamat and the Chromatic Dragons came to Lyceia and began hunting down the Metallic Dragons. Bahamut and an army of elves and dwarves fought back. Both Bahamut and Tiamat died during the conflict, and the Chromatic Dragons were driven out of Lyceia. After the war, the leaders of the armies of Lyceia, Pelor, Mellandra, Kord, and Vecna were made Lesser Gods.
After the betrayal of Vecna and subsequent banishing of the Elder Gods, men were left to populate the earth.
Humans were created as a rite of passage for the lesser gods, Pelor, Mellandra, Kord, and Vecna. They worked together to create humanity. Vecna corrupted the humans and taught them dark magic.
After the Great Deception, the new Elder Gods realised that they would need assistance in managing the affairs of mankind. They bestowed godly powers on those that had pure intentions and could assist in helping mankind survive. The gods chosen were Ofnir, the god of Scribes, The Raven Queen, goddess of Natural Death, Minerva, goddess of Peace, and Malius, god of War.
Due to various events and rumors which seemed far too convenient due to their synchronized timing across all of the continents of Lyceia, public opinion shifted strongly to the detestation of all Giant-kin. This included the good natured Storm and Cloud Giant civilizations which had lived at peace with mankind. After many were slain and the rest were driven out to the extent possible, disdain was redirected toward the humanoid races that shared a lineage of giantkind. Seemingly overnight, this ideology at large was quelled, though individual disdain for the Goliath and half-giant people could be seen for centuries after.
The continent upon which Rennlund is set had been home to only one nation for time immemorial. In the year 1370 of the Deias Absentia era, civil war rocked the continent. The rebellion led by three prominent families came to be known as the Chimera Assembly. What began with true love for their country, and a willingness to uphold their values, quickly became a war of underhanded tactics and cruelty on both sides. The Chimera Assembly, in a final act of desperation, turned to house Mellasombre's Matron, Eldrissa, who used her unmatched necromantic magics to raise an army of undead, the likes of which had not been seen on Lyceia in an age. A peace treatise was established between Alistair, head of House Bastion, and the king of Rennlund. Alistair formed a triumvirate of the three houses to govern over the newfound country of Felldoran, hoping that it would provide checks and balances. Quickly, however, House Mellasombre began to make power grabs across the land and Alistair began looking for a means to avoid further conflict. In response to their loss, and feeling abandoned by the gods, Rennlund outlawed the worship of Pelor (Patron of House Bastion) and ordered his temples closed.
In a remote village called Eldrethar in the Baltas mountain range of Felldoran, inhumane experiments using alchemy and dark magics were conducted on abducted children from the local mining encampment and within the town. During the events of the Wayfaring Strangers campaign, the party encountered a member of the Shadow King's Cult who had successfully created a new humanoid race with the physical features of rodents...
The events leading up to the sealing away of the dark god Vecna by The Wayfaring Strangers...
Within a single hour, all of the important figures in the Felldoran leadership were killed, leaving behind the sole heir to the throne, King Rowan.
