Penelope is the daughter of Wez Cordova and Mallory Sonitus.
After a Nanotype attack that killed her parents, Penelope had survived but was taken away by Reuben McCarty.

Penelope was home-schooled by her mother. She also picked up knowledge from others in her community. When she was saved by Magnus, he taught her survival skills for living in the wilderness, as well as talking to people.
