King Leomund
King Leomund is a larger-than-life figure—literally and figuratively. A Tabaxi with yellow fur marked by brown stripes, Leomund is fat, round, and regal in his own self-made way. Though he technically holds the title of Lord of Lingmell, he insists on being referred to as "King Leomund" by the city's residents and visitors alike. In his mind, there is little difference between being the lord of a beautiful, magical city like Lingmell and being an actual king. To further his royal persona, he has even adopted the nickname “Meowjesty.”
Despite his grand self-image, Leomund is not a true monarch. He reports to the real king of Crestala, Osiris Belmont, who rules from the capital city of Elyse. This is a minor inconvenience to Leomund, who likes to act as though he alone governs his fairy-tale-like city. In truth, he enjoys all the pomp and circumstance of royalty without bearing the burdens of a true king.

Leomund's appearance immediately commands attention. His round body and plump frame give him a soft, cushioned look, and his fur is a rich yellow, striped with deep brown markings that enhance his feline grace. His wide face is framed by large whiskers that twitch as he speaks, and his bright green eyes always sparkle with a hint of mischief or self-satisfaction. His ears are tall and pointy, often swiveling lazily as if he’s always listening for praise.
Leomund’s royal attire is extravagant. He wears finely embroidered robes in shades of purple and gold, lined with white fur at the edges for added comfort and regality. His crown is large and ornate, far grander than one would expect from a mere lord, perched slightly askew atop his head, giving him a somewhat comical yet endearing appearance. A scepter with an oversized gemstone rests in his paw, which he uses as a prop for his dramatic gestures.

Leomund is a character who thrives on attention and admiration. He is playful, charismatic, and a little self-absorbed, always eager to bask in the praises of his subjects. His love of grandeur and formality means he enjoys hosting grand feasts, festivals, and public appearances where he can show off his “kingly” stature. He loves nothing more than hearing the residents of Lingmell call him “Meowjesty” and is quick to correct anyone who dares to refer to him simply as "Lord Leomund."
Although he might seem vain, Leomund truly cares for the people of Lingmell. He views his citizens as his personal responsibility, and while his ideas of leadership may be more performative than practical, his heart is in the right place. He enjoys seeing his people happy and will go out of his way to ensure that Lingmell remains a prosperous and joyful city.
However, Leomund’s inflated ego does make him somewhat delusional about his status in the larger world. He occasionally tries to impose royal decrees that exceed his authority, much to the amusement or frustration of those around him. His tendency to believe his own exaggerations makes him a charming yet exasperating figure to deal with.
