The Unquenchable Fire
In the early era of life on Maeon, the Elven people were undisputed on the realm outside of the Yuan-Ti. The two elder ancestries would consistently fight amongst eachother in war and subterufge. These constant bouts of vengence and passionate anger would soon be responsible for the birth of one of two eldest gods of the realm. Maeon would see two sisters gain power and influence among the elven people, Orleanda and Sphyxa. The sisters would have very similar domains, thus would fight amongst eachother for the favor of the elven people. After constant war the two would come to an agreement after several houndred years of conflict. Orleanda would have domain in Aelotas, while Sphyxa would have domain in Saleth. From there Sphyxa's faithful would be primarily made up of a large number of prostitutes, thrill seekers, and spies. Her clerics usually clothe themselves in scant garb in shades of yellow, often accented by henna dyes used on the skin. As a result her temples act as centers of gossip and information, assuring its continued growth in popularity. Buildings dedicated to the unquenchable flame more often resemble thieves guilds, and usually cater to those seeking information or retribution rather than more carnal pursuits.

Sphyxa usually appears as a female elf of otherworldly beauty, arrayed in seductive dress of flowing yellow silks. These gowns do little to hide her lithe and graceful form, and she is often depicted in the company of giant wasps.

Sphyxa is not only vengeful, but vindictive when she has been wronged by another; she will take her time returning such disfavor, maneuvering in order to attain the best position from which to enact her retribution. Her legendary trysts are well-documented, although it is difficult to conclusively determine whether these tales are tales are truth or nothing more than fantasy.
