Metaphysical / Paranormal event
Walter Keen took his own life in the Shadowlands. Walter Keen's death had an intense magical ripple effect across the Shadowlands, both unintentionally drawing travelers into the Shadowlands and expelling some its native denizens. A number of those drawn in formed The Aimless Group .
Before his death, Walter Keen explained that his death would be the result of a multiple day suicide attempt. He explained that the death of "his kind" could be incredibly destructive and he had no desire to cause anyone harm. Unfortunately, Walter explained, he did not take into account the effect his death would have on the Shadowlands themselves.
As his life slipped away, the strength of the Shadowlands intensified and, for a short time, was able to touch on the mortal plane in a number of locations. This caused the spontaneous escape of some spirits into the world of Magnamund, and for some travelers to unintentionally find themselves drawn into the Shadowlands.
The members of The Aimless Group found each other and Walter and stood watch over his death. As a final request, he asked the group to take his body to Barrakesh and be laid to rest in The Golden Temple .
