Nerina
Nerina the Flame, Goddess of Renewal
One of the eight divines of Magvel, Nerina is fabled to have given mortals the gift of fire after the end of the Strife Ages to warm them and guide them into a new era. She is often portrayed with wings, commonly bat or butterfly wings.
Redemption is always possible, so long as there is another day coming. There will always be times of uncertainty, but light can always be found for those who seek it.
In Light Lies Hope
By shining a light on the downtrodden; letting people see and be seen, hope can always be found. In the shadows, the unknown and unseen, lie falsehoods and deceptions.
Do Not Fear the Cleansing Flame
A key separation between the domains of light and life is that light clerics embrace the need for destruction. Though flame can be devastating, it also represents a chance at a new beginning. Some things must be destroyed to that others can flourish.
Destiny Arrives All the Same
Fate works in mysterious ways. Great or small, good or ill, sought or resisted, destiny comes for us all. Nevertheless, we choose to be the best versions of ourselves, to aid our friends, save the innocent, and respect all life. In doing so, we may become destiny ourselves.
Embrace the Unknown
There is no greater unknown than death, and so, if we can overcome our fear of death, we can overcome trepidation about any great mystery in the world. Some questions may be unanswered, but we can still live our lives peacefully and honorably in the face of forces larger than ourselves.
Sanctity of Death
The passage into death is a sacred moment, a crossing of a threshold that cannot be broken. The creation of undead marks an aberration, pulling energies back from across the veil. Undead are blights upon the world, desecrations of body and soul that must be destroyed without question.
The Fire of Inspiration
The flame of creativity and inspiration burns within every living creature, waiting to be unleashed. It is a divine gift that should be nurtured and used to bring forth beauty and wonder into the world.
The Power of Change
Change is a fundamental part of life, and resisting it only leads to stagnation and decay. Embracing change can be scary, but it also holds the promise of growth and renewal.
The Duality of Fire
Fire is both a creative and destructive force, and its power must be respected. Followers of Nerina believe that it is not the element itself that is good or evil, but rather how it is wielded.
The Phoenix's Rebirth
The myth of the phoenix, a bird that rises from its own ashes, is a powerful symbol of renewal and transformation. Followers of Nerina see the phoenix as a manifestation of the goddess's power and take comfort in the idea that even in the darkest times, there is always the potential for rebirth and renewal

Customs
Followers of Nerina rarely bury bodies, to hide a body from the sun would damn their soul for eternity and leave their remains to be raised as undead. As such, priests perform a complex cremation ritual at dawn before burning a body, allowing its essence to enter the air and be one with the rays of sunlight forever. At morning dew

Temples
Temples of Nerina tend to be grand, ornate cathedrals with stained glass windows depicting tales of heroes lost. Nerina's temples are often associated with such heroic figures as knights in shining armor, bearers of truth and justice. Because of this, they are often some of the most popular religious structures in a given area. Within these churches, priests tend to Continual Flames that keep the building illuminated at all hours.Divine Domains
