Summer Solstice Blue Moon

Every millennia or so, there is a night where the larger moon of Malgrave, Lysenthe, turns blue during the summer solstice. This phenomina even breaks the standard cycles of the moons, making Lysenthe shine full despite what phase it was in the night before. It is a beautiful sight to behold, with a soft glow washing over the whole of Malgrave in a baby blue light. The appearance of this Blue Moon is always followed by a sudden abundance of life surging through nature. Flowers bloom and crops almost double overnight and last longer than normal. Animals are more lively and almost seem brighter and more colorful while forests become more lush. It has always been a cause for celebration every time it has shone across Malgrave.

The Summer Court

It was discovered at the turn of the Age to the Age of Tranquility that this was a beacon into the Fey Realm. When the Blue Moon appears during the Summer Solstice it calls for a vessel to become the host of either Titania of the Summer Court, or the Queen of Air and Darkness. Whichever court, Seelie or Unseelie, finds a person of Fey Ancestry that matches the virtues and personalities of their queen first will decide the main influence over the Fey creatures inside Malgrave. While the faeries all believe in their motto, 'mischief, not murder', it still determines how much of it is good natured and more much is sinister and filled with malice. So far, the Seelie Court has found their vessel first every blue moon, ensuring there is more good than bad from the Fey. Most recently, a band of heroes known as The Summer Children by the elven community fought to make sure Titania found her vessel first. Queen Feluriel of Silvershade became the next vessel of the fairy queen thanks to their bravery.
