Tom Cat
Tom is a tiefling barbarian who appears in the Adventure Appendices. He is played by I.W.
Description
Appearance
Tom is a massive tiefling, standing over six feet tall with large, curling ram horns. His skin tone is almost a normal human hue, but with enough red to give him a permanently flushed look. He has a powerful build with thick muscles that give him almost chiseled features. With his solid, blood red eyes and a grin that looks more like a snarl, he is a naturally intimidating person. He slicks back his short, calligraphy ink colored hair, which usually ends up looking windswept and wild shortly after. His tail seems to be stronger than most tieflings, being thick and capable of breaking bones. He wears a polished breasplate under a shoddy vest, leaving his arms bare. His pants are leather, as they are easier to clean than cloth when he gets blood on them and his tall, spiked boots look as though they once belonged to an orc.Personality
Tom is a young man that likes to assert his dominance over others. Crass and rude, he cares little for what others think of him, but will use the insults of others as a way to justify making an example out of someone. Seemingly getting some sort of joy out of causing fear and pain in others, Tom being called sadistic is often putting it mildly. If he's not striking fear into his enemies, he's manipulating his followers. Through violence or coercion, Tom makes sure he gets his way. His name was a pun he made himself, thinking it was clever as he's the leader of the Alley Cats.Biography
Background
As an infant, Tom was sold to The Vermin by his nobleman parents. While the crime syndicate had hoped to train him in stealth and finesse, the young tiefling had a penchant for destruction. He prefered to kick doors in as opposed to picking locks. Rather than being discouraged, White Feather saw it as an opportunity to expand their operations. This plan was set into motion with the intent of Tom leading a team focusing on coercion. Tom was eager to show what he could do and quickly started spreading fear of the syndicate throughout Westfall.Relationships
White Feather
Tom and White Feather are very close on a professional level. White Feather has been encouraging Tom's antics since giving him an entire branch of The Vermin. While there is a mutual respect, Tom secretly wouldn't mind taking over the syndicate as a whole, even if that means getting rid of his boss and mentor.Talwyn Nightingale
Tom has been manipulating Talwyn for years, poisoning her thoughts and emotions to make her embittered to the world around her, even removing her trust in The Caretaker. Despite her progressively volatile attitude toward the world and above average skills, Tom grew impatient with her slow aging and sent her on a mission White Feather said would likely end up in losing a member.Character Information
