Xanaris, the Bloodsworn Knight

In life, Xanaris Elderwind as a knight in service to Arturo Felsbane. After the mysterious fall of Ignacia, leading to the Bloodswamp, it is said that Xanaris held an eternal hatred: one that is carried beyond the grave.
Xanaris is noted in historical documents to have turned on his master after discovering a plot to destroy his enemies, including House Starblight, the royal family of the Empire of Ulstrom, whom his loyalty lies to first and foremost.
Many mysterious events that occur in Ignacia have been accredited to Xanaris. Some believe he is a shambling corpse, others a spirit, or even a Garo, but most people who believe in the story agree that he is behind the killings of many of the aristocrats that visit the city. These deaths tend to be on the brutal side, with a public spectacle: exsanguination, decapitation, mutilation, displayed in public, often hanging near the place of residence, or near the Ignacia Embassy if foreign.
Some people believe that this tale was spun by the Order of the Silverblade, as a cover for the assassinations of vampiric nobles. Others believe that House Starblight themselves fabricated the tale to cover weeding out noble that opposed them.
