Qualifications
No qualifications is required outside of one: it must be claimed from the original owner, Caspari Allegro, which self-proclaimed himself.
Since it's creation, the flame reignited a total of 4 times, the last one holding the current record for the longest duration, which is 80 years. A lot of speculations comes from such a long term, such as either the current ruler being of a long agespan (such as elves), or using magic to extend their lifespan (outside of necromancy which would douse the flame). No one knows how the cauldron would react if the last Secret King would die of natural causes.
Requirements
Any sapient being can claim the title as long as the qualifications are met. there is no age, gender, or other similar requirements.
Appointment
From the origin story, Caspari attuned a part of his blood to a unlit cauldron which after is applied a magic flame which react to the blood. this made the flame blue. In order to assign the rank to another , the flame extinguishes itself at the death of the current ruler, and reignited again with the new one's own, which the cauldron is rumored to be able to reckognise the most recent ruler's killer through magical capacities. The cauldron is visible from the top of the mountain.
Duties
While it is not mandatory, the Secret King is expected to make the cove and it's island flourish for the benefits of those that sails and fight geopolitical attempts to annex this island for a country or nation's gain.
Benefits
The title of secret king comes with it's privileges, such as benefiting from a huge sum of the island's taxes and having access to prefential services from any local as the ruler.
The title also offers a certain influence as most pirates will try to please the King or Queen if they demand specific request publicly, such as dispatching a bothersome naval fleet or getting a particular artifact.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Since the third Secret King's era, it is extremely hard to reckognise the ruler in public, as while the title was named this way related to the secrecy of the island and the isolation it provides, the name's meaning changed over time to describe the title-holder's secrecy itself. Some way the most recent one has a natural talent for transmutation magic, and may even have clones dispatched outside of the island. One thing helps reckognise the title holder: after the flame ceremony, the secret one has a permanent effect on their body, which is that if their blood is spilled, it will ignite and manifest as a blue flame, which they are immune. They also share a bond with their higher ranked underlings in the Starring Eagles.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Only removal by assassination is deemed a procedure for this title.
