Demolition Fist
A demolition fist is one of several different forms of auto-armor gauntlet that uses the power of dieseltech combustion pistons to increase and concentrate the force delivered in a punch. In contrast to weapons like the the JH-AA "Lance" Heavy Jackhammer, a demolition fist may leave the hand free to manipulate objects. For this reason, demolition fists are often used as backup weapons for close-quarters fighting.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The mechanics of demolition fists often mirror those found in auto-stilts. One or more pistons capped with a striking plate, blade, or hardened chisel extends parallel to the outer forearm, the end cap extending a short distance beyond the gauntlet when curled into a fist. A demolition fist may be triggered by an electric contact that closes when the striking surface of the fist touches something or by a valve- and compression-based system that causes ignition when the piston moves far enough inward. Additional safety interlocks may be integrated into the gauntlet such that it will only fire when a fist is made or when a safety toggle on the side is disengaged.
When triggered, the piston is quickly and forcefully extended by a biodiesel detonation in the chamber. This drives the striking surface into the target, combining with the momentum of the wielder's punch to amplify the force of the strike. A system of gussets, braces, and dampers where the weapon integrates into the auto-armor's forearm helps reduce the impact on the wielder from striking, as otherwise this could shatter the bones of the operator. This need for damping, along with the mass and fuel requirements involved, is why demolition fists are not usually used by unarmored infantry.
Significance
The aesthetics of demolition fists are popular among counter-culture groups looking to exude strength or edginess. A demolition fist is totemic aong such groups as a symbol of forcefulness, aggression, and social status. In contrast, like with other gauntlets, a demolition fist might also be associated with protection or authority, with this interpretation being more common among the ranks of the Grand Army of Voxelia.

Rarity
Demolition fists of various descriptions are common across military formations that make regular use of auto-armor. These weapons are significantly less common among civilian markets, as jackhammers and other tools afixable to utility skeleton pressure chucks have greater utility in these situations. Pinstripe punishers, however, are likely to wield demolition fists as tools of intimidation and for forcing entry into (or escape from) secure structures.
