Dobentel

Throughout the galaxy there are those that make, those that break, and those that sift through what was both made and broken for something useful. The Dobentel are an entire people made up of the latter, a subspecies of the Ishru who have left behind their martial culture in favor of one more pragmatic. While they aren't all liars and thieves, it does not take that many to sully the wider reputation of a group.

It does not take a great deal of pretense to create a bad reputation amongst thinking beings.

Culture and cultural heritage

Dobentel are a people do what they can with what they have. The story goes that they were a group of Ishru that were stranded on a generation ship, lost in space for some time before finally entering an inhabited star system only to find it had been colonized for some time by another race with FTL. During their long trip in the black, they had little need for their old martial heritage and customs and instead learned to fix, salvage, and scrap things.
