Edam

The Edam were a primordial race of humanoids with more in common with outsiders than normal organic life. It is said they were near immortal if they weren't actually so. They were salvaged from the First War and placed in what became known as the Old Galaxy or Old Stars, long before their descendants arrived in Markait. They became a vast starfaring culture one might call an hands-off empire within the Old Galaxy. The species gave up or lost their immortality along the way and diverged into many, many different subspecies, know collectively as the adamkin. The most common known members of these adamkin species were the humans, dwarves, and elves, though there were numerous other peoples, some of whom are now extinct, some have gone through further change and now don't look remotely like their ancient ancestors.

Edam were allegedly a primordial race from the early Creation, in a time long before Markait and its master crafter. The rumor is that they controlled vast amounts of other stars in a galaxy apart from Markait. The race was said to be strong, intelligent, and immortal. There are numerous races that claim lineage of this old sapient races

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The Edam were said to have sired such races as: Humans, elves, halflings, gnomes, and many others. All these peoples were at one time known as the edamkin, the jr. edam.
