Markit is a universe that seems to defy measurement, as it seems too small for the sheer number of stars, and its a complete mystery why it has not collapsed back in on the point that spawned it in the form of a black hole. More interesting is the fact that the center of the galaxy is much smaller than other measured galaxies, and instead of being an impenetrable wall of energy, it is instead, a wall of an uncanny substance that defies all attempts to scan, collect, or physically contact. Rumor is that this veil cuts off the wider galaxy from the Machinations of the Great Builder who values his privacy.

The galaxy is a wide place, but it is well explored by this current area, save for the Izbu Region, which seems utterly inhospitable to most forms of sentient life. In fact, most of the space in Sanctum seems to have been deliberately DESIGNED to be used by someone, something, or another.

Interstellar travel is only possible because the sentients of the galaxy can tack a shortcut in extra-dimensional space best known as Hydem. Seven for the axis of length, width, breath, and time, as well as several previously unknown axes that seem to defy understanding and measurement.
