Issue 4: The Polygon
General Summary
Gateway City found itself transported again, leaving the inky darkness to land in a lush jungle. Miles above a gilded dome revealed a hazy purple sky throwing diffused light down on the landscape.
Valor decided to call in for help from his homeworld Aetheria, wanted to find a way to pinpoint the cities new location. Sir Selene Pembroke, knight of the queens will, answered. While she would inquire to the kingdoms mages, she demanded that Valor return home for the Queens council.
Typhon was alerted by Ms. Cognition and Mr. Grasp that small arms fire was detected on the fringes of the city, extra terrestrial in nature.
Typhon, Valor, and Searcher decided to head out and determine the source of the weapons.
At the edge of the Stratham Bridge, they found a small battle between a group of hairy mutants and a lone girl. The trio quickly dispatched the largest of the mutants, causing the rest to flee.
The newly rescued girl introduced herself as Santiana, leader of the Truefolk. Her village was not far from the battle, and the group flew back to it.
At the 'village' they found a heavily fortified encampment, recently embattled. They were warmly introduced to the folk there, and fetted briefly. Valor became obsessed with recovering bodies from the villagers battles. Santiana produced a number of silver collared Mutants to go out and recover the bodies for burial. Typhon quickly became suspicious of them.
Santiana showed them the camp, and revealed that she and her compatriots were the last of the command crew of The Polygon, a colony ship which was stuck in interdimensional hyperspace. Gateway City was sitting right in the middle of their agricultural ecosphere. A plague had wiped out the majority of the population centuries ago. She said that the mutants they had fought earlier had evolved over that time, and they were at war constantly.
Typhon had enough of this business, and the trio flew back to the city to deal with affairs there. When they returned, Valor had a message from Septimus, a junior mage from the royal academy. He said that they were able to locate the city, but had no good frame of reference to communicate it when them. He did know that something had pulled the city out of its multidimensional wanderings.
