- Eye-Like Growths, purple, on Face, Throat, Chest, and Arms
- Sleepwalking State
- False Wings
- Violence/Cannibalism
Treatment
The most effective treatment for Watcher's Disease, for the safety of everyone in the community, is to kill the affected before they reach the final stages of disease.
Prognosis
Watcher's Disease is known by the large, eye-like purple growths on the affected's face, throat, chest, and arms, as well as the "sleepwalking" state the affected will enter at random. This state may lead to violent outburts, but its main goal is stalking a random victim, with the affected often standing over and "watching" its target.
As the disease progresses, the affected will progressively become more and more inhuman/inhybrid, growths spreading accross more of the body and existing growths growing larger. They will move in more animalistic or uncanny ways, often found perching above its stalking targets.
In the final stages of the disease, the affected will begin to grow false wings- large growths on the back consisting both the affected's muscle, flesh, and bone and the same material as the eye growths.
At this stage, the affected is no longer in control of their body, the disease has fully taken over. They become more erratic and incapable of understandable speech, communicating in screeches and howls, though there have been reports that the affected body is able to mimic the voices those it stalks in attempts to draw them to a secluded area, where it would then attack and eat the victim.
Cultural Reception
The main reaction is extreme horror, often outcasting or killing those showing the beginning stages of the disease. Those that contract Watcher's Disease may also kill themselves in the early stages, not wishing to die to the disease.
A small group, however, worships the disease, believing it to be a holy blessing. They are Those That Listen
