Snout of Omgar
Once a protrusion of the Daybreak Peninsula, the Snout of Omgar became an island during a particularly harsh typhoon season long ago. It has since become the breeding ground and home of the Omgar Tortles. On the island is the Typhoon Palace, an abandoned temple to a Sea deity as well as the tortle town of Ahoyhoy. The volcanic isle has recently recieved many more visitors, due to the Grand Shanty's mooring in Ahoyhoy.
Geography
The Snout of Omgar is a volcanic island created by the teconic upheaval around Procan's Depths and the Cobalt Sea off the coast of the Peninsular Colonies. It was once part of the Daybreak Peninsula, but brutal seasonal storms erroded a channel between the volcanic isle and mainland.
The northern peninsula of the isle is crowned by High Horn, the interior of which is dominanted by the Mud Pits of Florrb (and, to the south, the Shrine of Fangs). On the western coast is the Tortle town of Ahoyhoy, south of which is the Typhoon Palace - aka Dangwaru. East of Dangwaru and in the center of the sile are a series of volcanoes, which house several entrances to Geonid Caves - which extend far into the south of the isle.

Ecosystem
Home not just to the tortles, the isle has a number of fantastical flora and fauna that inhabit it. Almiraj and chwinga from the spirit realm dwell in the wilds of the isle, while axe beaks and blood hawks patrol the skies along with a host of other smaller birds. Eblis also live on the island.
Due to its isolation and place as a center of trade, the isle has also become host to a handful of invasive species. These include baboons (imported from southern lands), which live in packs in the mountain caves and forage in the forests of the isle.
The island's geographic isolation and position south of ringshadow has also allowed reptiles to flourish, including giant lizards, snaping turtles, and even the ancient dimetradons. Some pteranodons nest in the mountains (though this is the furthest north they can be found), sharing the skies not just with birds but also flying snakes.
The mountains are inhabited by geonids and jaculis (and even a few coveted flail snails), while the nearby waters contain a variety of fish, sharks, dolphins, and even a few pleisosaruses as we;; as a marine decapus.

Climate
Sitting south of the Ringshadow Line, the Snout of Omgar recieves sunlight year-round and warm, northerly currents from the equator. Tropical storms typically pass the isle by and make landfall on eastern mainland shores but are not unherad of. Volcanic activity keeps the land fertile but limits any and all settlements in size.
History
Long ago, the Snout of Omgar was but a part of the Daybreak Peninsula. Harsh storms battered the land which, paired with seasonal glacial floods from Ringshadow, eventually cut through the low mountains and separated the Snout from the mainland.
Early in the island's history, tortles migrated from the south-west, riding warm equitorial currents, and colonized the volcanic isle. These inhabitants would become the Omgar Tortles. Some time later, a pirate ship captained by an occultist was caught in a typhoon and swept ashore. She impressed the tortles with evil magics, and convinced them to raise the Typhoon Palace in honor of her twisted water cult.
Eventually the cultists passed away and the palace fell into ruin. Generations of Tortle learned to shun the place, and live peacefully in their town of Ahoyhoy.
After the Cobalt Reconquista, the Sea Prince vessel the Pig's Whistle was claimed by imperial Commander Artimesia Faulistus. Having lost her legs and retired in the conflict, Commander Faulistus had the ship anchored in Ahoyhoy and turned into a nautically-themed tavern dubbed the Grand Shanty, increasing trade and commerce through the sleepy tortle town.

Tourism
The warship-turned-tavern The Grand Shanty, formerly the Pig's Whistle, is a major source of tourism for the isle. Sailors find it a useful place to stopover during long voyages from the heartland to Salmon Coast, and the establishment is infamous among bar tourists. Recently, archaeologists have taken interest in Dangwaru, while the rich and powerful find the tortle inhabitants and exotic flora and fauna of the isle fascinating.
This increased attention has not been perfect for the Tortle, who wish to remain soverign and independent. Furthermore, the increase in outsiders over the past two decades has increased risk and the spread of diseases.

This is absolutely awesome. I enjoy how you use invasive animals and diseases that spread from far to illustrate how the city is a popular trade city. I also think it's awesome that the pirate turned tavern owner.
