Cuberth Bulltlerbuts (Coo-berth B-ull-ter-buts)

A powerful fey and a member of the Missing Court, the fey court that searches for the ever elusive Murky Marquis. He has forcefully subjugated two adventuring groups, Those Who Knock, and Spagma, to find him a powerful relic that he believes will help him located the Hidden Sovereign.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Cuberth is a satyr-like creature, with a large belly and a tendancy to insult mortals.

Identifying Characteristics

Cuberth seems to have three mystical tattoos on his body, one on his left shoulder, depicting a stalagtite, one on his right shoulder, depicting a pool of water, and a large combination of the two on his back, which make up of the Murky Marqus' holy symbol.

Special abilities

Cuberth seems to be invulnerable to harm from conventual weapons and lower level spells. This was later revealed to be a ruse, as the body people had been interacting with was just a powerful illusion, and the real Cuberth was much weaker and more susceptible to physical harm.

Specialized Equipment

Cuberth wielded a blade known as the Blade of the Unknown, an invisible blade that erased anything it touched, including parts of a victim's body. After his defeat, the blade is now in the hands of Yace Storeray.

Personal history

Cuberth was celebrating his 1300th birthday party when two adventuring parties, Those Who Knock and Spagma, accidently wandered into his camp uninvited. Enraged by the party crashers, he sicked his gremlin minions on them. While putting up a valiant fight, the two groups found that their mortal weapons couldn't harm Cuberth, and soon were captured. He demanded a spectacular birthday gift, but when the groups failed to provide, he decided to send them north to the ruins of Mol-Mirek, to retrieve a powerful relic to help him locate his master, the Murky Marquis. He stated that if the party failed to do so within half a year, he would track them down, transform their bones into pudding, and feast upon them each subsequent birthday for the rest of eternity.   When the parties eventually found the relic, the Skull of the Wisest Troll, Cuberth appeared out of the woods, demanding the finally give him his "birthday present". Despite some debate, Lionslayer handed the relic over to him, which he used to summon the troll, Kyleth. He then invited both the two parties and his army of gremlins to a "birthday dance" and the two groups began fighting. Eventually, he joined in, wielding a strange invisible sword that erased anything it touched. Over the relic was stolen from him several times over the course of the battle and eventually, he was struck down, but he simply reappeared moments later, a bit upset but no longer wounded. He eventually engaged in a fierce duel with Lughi’a Hafqu’umu, the leader of Spagma, but the brave warrior was unable to defeat the fey, and lost all of his limbs to his magic blade. But the battle delayed Cuberth long enough for some reinforcements to arrive, and the groups were able to subvert the magic of the skull to take control over Kyleth, sending him to attack Cuberth. Eventually, only Kyleth and the leader of Those Who Knock, Yace Storeray, stood against an enraged Cuberth. During the fierce fighting, Yace was able to figure out the secret to Cuberth's regeneration; he was just an illusion! The real, much smaller, Cuberth had been hiding at the edge of the woods the whole time. While Kyleth kept the illusory Cuberth at bay, Yace attacked the real Cuberth. The battle was still tough, and Yace nearly died, but in the end, was able to hit the real Cuberth with a bolt of magic, causing both Cuberths to disappear in a puff of smoke. Unsure if they had killed him, Yace then returned the skull to Kyleth, destroying it, freeing his spirit, and forever denying Cuberth the knowledge he sought.
