Six Pillars of Law

A group of deities who work together to embody the core aspects of Law. Each deity represents a core tenant needed for law and civilization to function.   Asmodeus represents the pillar of Strategy. No civilization can function without extensive planning and long term strategy. Despite his status as a Fiendish Lord, Asmodeus's insights to the future are highly valued, if not always completely trusted, by the group.   Lys represents the Pillar of Commerce. Civilization arose out of the need to trade, and many of the first mortal laws were formed to set the rules of exchange. Lys is the primary negotiator of the group, and is often their representative to other deities.   Namáné represents the Pillar of Discipline. Law is based on the control of things, and before one can control others, one must control themselves. Namáné is key to keeping the group on task and working together for the greater goal of a lawful world.   Olka represents the Pillar of Community. Communities are what laws exist to protect, and no community can function without some rules between its citizens. Olka's key tasks are the guidance of the group in its goals for the mortal world.   Sartos represents the Pillar of Protection. Laws exist to protect and serve others, and if no creatures are safe to practice law, law itself will fade. Sartos works to help plan the protection of the group and its followers, and to draw up countermeasures to the acts of chaotic beings who threaten the stability of the cosmos.   Finally, Thanaloc represents the Pillar of Cosmic Order. He leads the group as a whole, shaping the laws of the universe itself and focusing on the eternal battle against entropy.

Divine Origins

It is said the the Six Pillars were formed in the Age of Conflict, after the corruption of Cabmov. Asmodeus was the one who took the initiative in the formation of the group, personally meeting with each of the other deities in turn. Many suspect that he has untoward motives, and many more are surprised that one of the Celestial Paragons agreed to work with him. Asmodeus himself states that it is a simple matter of self-preservation; after all, he cannot rule the world if it is destroyed by the forces of chaos.

Tenets of Faith

The Six Pillars are made up of of several different religions, and thus those followers usually stick closely to the tenats of those religions, but with a greater focus on the ideal of law over the other aspects of those faiths.

Priesthood

Most preists of the Six Pillars are primarily members of the Church of the Iron Order, or are a member of the Order of the Pillar of Hellknights. They are often known to others a Lawbringers, and are responsible for maintaining the relationships between the various religious factions.

Political Influence & Intrigue

The Six Pillars enjoy a large amount of politica influence, thanks to the cooperation of the six different churches. This allows the agents of the order to travel far and wide in their fight against the forces of chaos and entropy.

Sects

Each of the different deities have their own sects in the Six Pillars, often as a sub-sect of thier own official religion.   The most prominant of these sects is the Hellknight Order of the Pillar, who make up a large portion of the overall worship of the Six Pillars.
