Thanaloc (Than-a-lock)
The Stalwart Will
One of the first deities and a member of the 7 Supremes; Thanaloc is the god of cosmic order and the unbending force of law. He and Protos, the goddess of primal chaos, are constantly locked in a struggle for dominance over the fundamentals of the universe, with Protos constantly tearing down Thanalocs attempts at building a perfectly ordered universe.
Divine Domains
Thanaloc holds sway over the universal laws of existence, such as gravity, the laws of physics, and the balance of the world. His clerics gain access to the Artifice, Community, Law, Magic, and War domains, as well as the Construct, Cooperation, Divine, Inevitable, Judgement, and Tactics subdomains.
Artifacts
Thanaloc's primary weapon is known as the Iron Gauntlet of Unbending Order; a powerful weapon capable of rewriting the laws of physics itself. Only rarely does Thanaloc allow his most devout followers to utilize this gauntlet, as he doesn't feel mortals have the will and restraint to use the item properly.
Holy Books & Codes
Thanaloc's holy tome is known as As Things Should Be. It is a giant iron-bound tome detailing the rigorous rituals of the faith and the importance of combating chaos and entropy.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Thanaloc's holy symbol is a clenched gauntlet closing around a swirling star.
Tenets of Faith
Lockers must follow many strict codes and rules, but paladins of Thanaloc must follow an additional code shown below:
- I will be rational an ordered in my manner and methods; acting rashly only brings about entropy faster.
- I will strive to fight against the agents of chaos who would shatter the rules that bind and keep the world functioning. If such creatures cannot be convince of the salvation of law, I will ensure they do not escape to spread their entropy.
- I will always follow the rule of law; If a law is unjust, I will work within the system to change the law from within.
- I will always make plans for the future; those who fail to plan are responsible for their own failures.
- I will not corrupt and bend the natural laws of the world, as they were put into effect by creatures far more knowledgeable than myself.
- I will strive to learn and grow to better myself. Order takes time to master, so I will take time to master myself.
Holidays
The first of each month is for Lockers is known as Planning Day, where each individual spends the day in seclusion attempting to plan out their goals for the month. The last day of the month is known as a Day of Review, where the Locker finds a trusted companion to go over their plans and rate them on how well they succeeded in meeting their goals, as well as giving them advice on how to improve in the future.
Aside from those monthly dates, the Church of the Iron Order has two other major holidays:
The Day of Solemnity: Held on the 21st of Usa; it is a day to mourn the loss the offspring of Thanaloc, Cabmov to the forces of corruption as well as the lost union between law and chaos that could have been.
Day of Brandished Iron: Held on the 26th of Usa, five days after the Day of Solemnity; This is a day to actively hunt the forces of chaos and punish them for their wrongdoings. All members who are of fighting age are expected to contribute in some way to an active hunt of a creature of entropy or destruction, and it is a day where all laws are strictly enforced.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Thanalocs main goals are to keep the order of universe intact, as well as to combat the forces of chaos and entropy. His primary adversary is Protos, the Primal Chaos, and their clashes in the past created most of the Celestial Paragons and the Fiendish Lords.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
When manifesting as an avatar, Thanaloc appears as a massive man made out of perfectly hewn iron and stone, that gleams as if starlight and galaxies themselves are trapped inside. His hands seem to be crafted of two massive gauntlets of glowing energy.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Thanaloc was the third god to emerge from Ygg, emerging just after Protos and beginning his eternal pursuit of dominance over chaos. This means he is the 5th oldest being in creation, and thus helped form the very foundation of the world itself.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Thanaloc was responsible for crafting much of the physical laws of the universe, and even helped shaped the realms of many of the other deities and demigods.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Thanaloc rules over an entire race of outsiders known as Inevitables, which he sends out to enact his will on the world and hunt the forces of chaos. His herald is known as simply as 19-22, a massive six-armed Inevitable that resembles a floating torso.
Thanaloc has a cordial and respectful relationship with Draganna Kalila Piitag, as the both deal with cosmic and universal forces, and Thanaloc cannot maintain his order without the flow of time. Likewise, he gets along well with nearly every lawful god, as they all follow his methods and rules in some way or the other.
Thanaloc shows pity at best for most of the chaotic aligned gods, with most of them only gaining his contempt for their willingness to further the universe down a path towards entropy..
He is constantly badgering deities that are not overly aligned with either side to join him in the fight against chaos, often offering them crafted gifts of weapons and servants in exchange for aid. He is the leader of a group of deities that constantly work together to expand the rule of law, known as the Six Pillars of Law. Thanaloc represents the strongest and most important pillar, Order.
Thanaloc destest Gunter, the dwarven god of toil, as he once promised to build him a powerful siege engine, but instead crafted Gara, the first Crawling. Ever since, Thanaloc has viewd Gunter as a fraud, and not worthy of the title of craftsman.
Family Ties
Thanaloc hates Chronu, his own son, for not only betraying and corrupting his favorite son Cabmov, but also breaking time and forever ruining the chances of order and chaos to reconcile. Because of this, his truest enemy is Protos the goddess of unbound chaos and entropy, although he views this conflict as more of a necessity and a rivalry rather than outright hatred. While he hates many creatures born of chaos, he recognizes that chaos and entropy has had its place in the universe, and thus views it more as his duty to conquer it and transform it into a force for order rather than destroy it completely. Due to their constant fighting, Thanaloc is one of the few creatures Protos actually seems to recognize and focus effort towards. In the rare attempts to glean insight from Protos' roiling forms, the knowledge gained seems to indicate that she views Thanaloc as a misguided fool who cannot see the truth that all things will fall to chaos in the end.

Quotes & Catchphrases
Members of his church, the Church of the Iron Order, have several catchphrases:
It (His) Will Be Done: Said as a declaration and often as a threat, as it is a promise that the action will happen or that they will die trying, as it is Thanalocs will. It is then said again when the task is complete as a prayer to Thanaloc.
As It Should Be: Said to affirm choices that one agrees with, as they view it as part of Thanaloc's grand plan of moving the universe closer to perfect order.
