Corpsebloom

Corpsebloom is an extremely rare and deadly magical plant that is known for growing in extremely strange environments. Illegal to sell in the Shou and Ascan Empires, it is famously difficult to cultivate.

Effects

Casual exposure in the wild, such as brushing the plant with a limb, causes first sickness and eventual necrosis in the touched area, leading to a gradual death. There is no natural antidote. However, it is possible to remove the affliction through powerful magic. A more concentrated form of the plant, when ingested as a poison, causes immediate death and resurrection of the corpse as undead, making resurrection impossible.

Known Locations

Herbalists and mages have noted that there is a correlation between corpsebloom growth in the wild in the presence of infernal magical energy. The strongest evidence for this is the relative frequency of the herb in Abyssus, an area where Asmodeus was famously slain by Sora Anzai.
