Gratification

Gratification is the 69th layer of the Abyss, currently ruled by Graz'zt. The plane's aesthetics have shifted over time, but currently resemble that of a great city with Ascan and Abyssal characteristics surrounded by mountains and desert in an eternal twilight.

Population

Gratification generally attracts those with lascivious desires, both mortal and dead. Chaotic souls of the intensely lustful variety often find themselves reborn as demons destined to wander the layer, searching for satisfaction. Those who are particularly good at satisfying others and winning their reverence benefit immensely, becoming prominent members of the layer's elite. Many less prominent members of the layer serve in pleasure houses in the more populated areas of the layer, hoping to quench their insatiable desires and gain influence and power.

Rulership

Graz'zt and his children are seen as the primary stewards of the layer, along with faithful that worship him. Graz'zt gained the de facto rulership of the layer through merit by placating, charming, and fulfilling the desires of many of the layer's residents, cultivating their worship. As such, he enjoys immense popularity from his faithful, which represents a majority of the population of the layer. Graz'zt enforces no laws in the layer, leading to it existing in a state of persistent anarchy.
