The Matsuoka Clan are still regarded as one of the Great Dynasties of the Shou-ou era, though their star has dimmed somewhat lately. Their patriarch is Minoru Matsuoka, an ambitious man whose desire to recover their family’s fortunes has taken the shape of heavy investment in maritime trade. Unfortunately, a storm has recently sunk his ships, and placed his clan in debt to the Vydava Guild of Maritime Charterers. His wife passed ten years ago, and he has re-married to Shoshi Anzai, a far more impressive match (to a much younger woman than himself). His son, Shigeru, is the product of his first marriage to Genshi Tengan and benefits from being better-liked by the common people due to his affable nature and acts of charity, which his father doesn’t believe they can afford.
The Matsuoka Clan's close ties to the Jade Tortoise Emperor have eased tension with
Velrihm in the last five years.
Their colors are green, yellow, and black.
