The Way
The Way is a spiritual and philosophical tradition of Shou origin that emphasizes the mundane divinity of the world and adherence to the Three Treasures (compassion, frugality, humility). Unusually, followers of the Way do not overtly worship any main god, and instead seek to become one with the natural spontaneity of the world in order to leverage its power.
The Way has had profound influence on Shou culture. Politically, adherence to the Three Treasures is often seen as a desirable trait in leaders, and traditions of the Way are often invoked to increase legitimacy.
Syncretism
The open-ended nature of the Way as a philosophical and spiritual tradition leaves it open for blending with other religions and cultures, making it very accessable and widely spread. Generally, followers do not view the Way as being "in conflict" with other pantheons or religious beliefs.Magical Power
Some theological and arcane scholars have noted that historically, sorcerers, especially the most powerful among them, tend to be devout followers of the Way, suggesting a possible link between the "mundane divinity" of the Way and magical power itself. However, this theory is contested by many, especially in Ascalon.Afterlife
Teachings of the Way suggest that following the Three Treasures will allow a soul to gain access to Tengoku after death.
