The Blood Bow

A hooded figure arises from behind cover. With no arrow notched, they draw the bow string back, their face winces as red droplets flow from their fingertips to form the arrow trained on you.   The Blood Bow is a masochistic weapon. It is a blood red, dripping short bow that inflicts deadly wounds on those hit by an arrow, and the wielder.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Blood Bow is a give and take weapon, it extracts a heavy toll from its wielder but can just as easily save them when used correctly.   This short bow does not require arrows to fire, but life points instead. When drawn, the wielder loses 3 hit points. They can regain the health by not firing the arrow and returning the string to its resting position. Landing a hit with this weapon restores 1 hp to the wielder. The arrow deals an extra 1d6 damage. The extra damage and 1 hp gain only works against enemies with discernible organs and a blood like fluid (ex Orcs, and not Gelatinous Cubes)   Upon scoring a killing blow the wielder is returned to full health as the blood of the enemy is drained from them.
