With the courtyard freshly made punishment for crimes can be an event and reserve the Hanging Tree for extreme crimes.

While the Hanging Tree was a good way of imposing the law in the beginning of the town's history new methods must be implemented. With the construction of the courtyard in the center of the town complete it only seemed fit to hold trials and the results of said trials there, mainly executioners by The Hand of Tyr. As crime is not a major part of the town it became entertainment for the villagers when a person went on trial. A nice raised stage was built in the center of the courtyard for viewing pleasure.
