Breaking the Hobgoblins

Military action

Cylence annexes the native Hobgoblins to increase her military might.

Cylence was unimpressed with the military might of her new kingdom and decided to bolster her forces with troops from the surrounding badlands. So much of the first decade of her rule was spent in crushing the local hobgoblin tribes and forcing them to swear allegiance to Darkport.
  In addition to the massive influx of troops that this gave the city, Cylence also recruited the most talented war wizards of the various hobgoblin tribes to relocate to Darkport and begin training wizards for service to the crown. These wizards created the Iron Tower, which has become Darkport’s pre-eminent source for magical knowledge.
