Cylence crushes an attempt to found a church in her honor.
In the year 56, a small cult formed that directly worshiped Cylence Coldeyes as a goddess of tyranny. Despite receiving no magical powers from their worship the cult spread quickly and by late summer was reported to have over three hundred members.
When the existence of this cult came to the attention of Lady Cylence, she was infuriated. Forces loyal to her were sent into the city to capture these cultists, whom Cylence branded as heretics. After the cult had been rounded up, Cylence had them tortured to death, one after another, in the main square in Darkport. This three-month long torture session became known as the Carnival of Blood, and the Church of Omandon still celebrates its beginning as a holy day.
The cobblestones in the center of Darkport remain stained a deep reddish brown, even today. After the final cultist was slain, Cylence decried their actions and swore that there would be no god in Darkport before Omadon, and to foster the worship of any other god would mean a slow and painful death.
This has led to charges of worshiping other gods as a favored tool of the local nobles to discredit their enemies.
