Glod Goldtooth

The patriarch of the Glodson clan, Glod Goldtooth is one of the oldest and richest dwarves in Copperdeep. Unlike other dwarven clans that protect themselves by retreating into strongholds and underground kingdoms, Glod encouraged his descendants to spread out over the surface world. Thereby creating a large network of merchants, craftsmen and informants that filled the clan's coffers to the brink.
Glod's unorthodox leadership stems from his past. As a young dwarven noble, having fought for his clan during the Age of Conquest, Glod hoped that the end of the war would lead to peace and prosperity to all. Yet no such peace came to pass. The wars of men continued, and his own home was raided by orcs, the dwarven nobles forced to flee with a handful of surviving refugees. While Glod's brother called for vengeance against the raiders, Glod instead decided to retreat to the stronghold of their kin in Copperdeep. Seeing as even the mighty Goldtooth stronghold could fall in war, Glod and those that followed him tried a different path, developing their clan as a large but spread-out consortium.
