Droug Dan
Born in Kutsvatten,
Treria, Droug was born to a rather poor family who, like most trerians, struggled with the harsh cold of the north. Despite doing what he could to help around his home, it seemed that the hard times were never over. Quite strangely, however, Droug, from birth, had never really felt cold, instead, he seemed to feel his best during winter, he felt comfortable. One day, his mother got pregnant again and Droug gained a sister, yet he also realized things could only get more difficult, as it would mean another mouth to feed, and if there was one thing Droug never liked being, was a burden.
From his infancy, he had always shown signs of physical prowess: taller than the other kids, stronger, more resilient, indefatigable. And so, despite being rather young, Droug decided to leave his home, not because he was unhappy, but because he cared for them, he had to start his own story.
Aware of his capabilities, he aimed high: he went to the longhouse of none other than the Krateros of Treria, seeking shelter, seeking training, seeking to prove himself. The King, Asgaror Lonigrad was known for his measure, and agreed to the boy's request. At the age of 13, after receiving but a month of training, Droug took on the Giant's Challenge - a treacherous and dangerous run towards the top of the mountain by Kutsvatten, which he thought to be a mere obstacle course when in truth it was a rite of passage for formidable warriors. The years passed and, after being accepted into the Krateros' services, Droug eventually ascended to the rank of Giant, a personal bodyguard and elite warrior of the King.
Then, during The Crisis of 1020, Droug travelled south and took on a mighty quest to fight not only against the dreadful Världsmord, but also the return of the The Shadows of Exodus. During such mission, Droug ventured to the Under Realm, fought abyssal horrors, unholy beasts and more, in which he eventually uncovered why he had never felt cold: Droug was a Son of Engel¹.
His quest continued, he came into the possession of legendary artifacts, survived encounters with demons, got captured by a Tree Mother and her dryads, dealt with dwarves and even fought Lamia, the demon-witch of Kaorar. It all ended by December, during the peak of winter, atop the Rakkaparat Mountains, where, along with Argentus, the larian, and a group of wizards, Droug defeated Valaror, the last dragon. The return of the Shadows was stopped.
The world might have been spared of a great catastrophe, amidst which Droug was named as the appointed Krateros of Treria, as Asgaror chose to step down, but Droug's journey hadn't ended, for he above all desired to uncover his destiny. Droug ventured north, to the Unmapped Lands. This happened in 1021.
As of 1025, Droug hasn't been seen again.
