Dryad
Born from within the deepest and oldest forests, created from the very essence of nature, as if they were but another branch or blade of grass to grow in the woods. Graceful maidens with skin as luminous as moonlight, their hair, a cascade of leaves, tendrils and vines, while their eyes are a deep pool of verdant hues. Despite their young appearance, dryads never get old and do not get sick as man do, they are one of the several embodiments of natural spirits.
Dryads are never found completely alone, for each dryad is like one among many children of an Earth Mother, a higher spirit that watches and oversees a world tree, like worker ants of their queen and nest. They are capable of communicating with most animals and even talk to man, but their intelligence is limited and their behaviour doesn't strike far from that of a child's. Despite this, they are fierce, brave when in groups and very capable of using weapons, frequently the bow.
When their territory and/or forest is encroached, desecrated or otherwise violated, dryads are quick to resort to violence and will show no mercy against those that seek to do harm to their homes, as the trees and soil feel like a part of themselves.
Many adventurers, in their ignorance, have tried entering such forests to speak or study dryads, but few are lucky to come back, for despite their good intentions, dryads don't take it lightly to any tresspassing. Not only this, but because of the history mankind has with natural spirits, it has become almost an instinct for dryads to be hostile against man.
