Engel isn't just a god, for he exerts himself in times of hardship, of struggle, he is the cold wind that blows by Autumn's end, he's the first frost of the season, the icy tendril of the world, he is winter itself."

Also called Teuton, Trajan or simply Winter, Engel is the oldest known deity in Människar and also considered the greatest, shown as the one responsible for the harsh winters of Mellanvärlden. Different sources depict him differently - many tribes and cultures of old would describe him as a gargantuan frost giant that would blows cold winds towards the south each year and roaming the far, far north of the unmapped lands. Others claim the god to be a spirit forever in conflict with the Sun, each striving to gain advantage over the other as the years pass, which explains the seasons.
The God is also the patron of the northerners, from which the The Engelian Empire took it's name from, as the warriors were proud to live in the harshest and coldest of the environments, calling themselves soldiers and champions of Winter, who were first led by the guardian to the tallest peak.
Nowadays the God is mostly worshiped in Treria, where the Jorvsk warriors offer sacrifices and tributes to the deity in exchange for blessings against their struggle in the harshness of the Spear Peninsula. Thortyr, on the other hand, turned its back on all Gods and religions, both which were replaced by a near fanatical sense of nationalism and pride over the heritage from the Empire.
